We've recently hired some new teachers as well as welcoming back a previous teacher. Each of them are now accepting new students.
Please note that Sam Cave will not be available until mid-July. Additionally, we are actively searching for a new Brass Teacher. Interested applicants are invited to e-mail a cover letter and resume to email@example.com
Now that the Spring Recital is behind us, it's time to start thinking about the summer. School of Music Arts continues to operate and offer lessons through the summer months, and we encourage students to continue their lessons.
The main reason to continue through the summer is that you might lose what you've learned. No matter what you are learning, if you take a break, there is a high risk of having to relearn what you already know, and with music, if you aren't continually practicing, your muscles and your memory forgets. When you return to lessons, it takes twice as long to get back to where you would be without the break.
Another reason is that we cannot guarantee space with your regular teacher when you return. Over the past year, we have experienced growth beyond our expectations which has resulted in fully booked teacher's availability and/or studio space. Unfortunately, we can only accommodate so many students. We will do our best to fit everyone in when they return. One possible solution is to register for afternoon lessons. The Ontario Education Act says that students are allowed up to a half day per week for the purpose of music lessons. We don't need a half day for music lessons, and it's still a very educational and beneficial activity that might just help your school grades too, so please keep this option in mind.
