In upcoming newsletters, we'll be posting maintenance tips for the various instruments that we teach, to help you keep those instruments looking and sounding their best. This month, we'd like to remind our ukulele students that ukuleles could use a new set of strings about once every year at least, or sooner if you notice that they don't hold their tune very well.
back to school/back to routine
Students head back to school this week, and with it, get back into routine. Routine is important for kids (and adult students as well). It helps achieve goals, improves self-discipline, reduces stress and builds self-confidence. As you arrange your new daily routines, don't forget to add in your daily music practice. Just like your daily routine, daily music practice also helps achieve goals, improve self-discipline, reduce stress and build self-confidence, so make sure you get your daily double dose of positivity.
Here's a couple suggestions to help add music practice into your routine.
"A person who never made a mistake, never tried anything new."
The date for the winter recital has been set, although the exact times are still undetermined. Once times have been decided, we will make a sign up list available online via the portal. We want our students to start thinking about the recital and what they would like to perform. Some of our teachers have already started preparing our students for the performance. We have limited space for performers, and we don't want any two students to perform the same song on the same instrument, so if you have a song in mind, let us know as fast as you can to make sure you get what you want. This recital may be close to Christmas, but you do not have to choose a Christmas song in order to participate.
