The Christmas Recital is almost here and the sign-up lists are almost full. If you haven't signed up yet and would like to participate, please let Steve know as soon as possible before there are no spaces remaining. If you're not sure if you've signed up, just ask. The recital itself will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 615 Baseline Rd. E. The recital times are 4:00pm and 6:00pm on November 26th. There will still be lessons scheduled for that day, so if you would prefer to skip that lesson, please inform Steve with as much notice as possible. We also ask that anyone planning to attend the recital bring a donation to the London Food Bank.
I didn't have anything specific to write about this month, so I decided I'd like to cover a few short topics. Most of you might already know these things, but reminders never hurt.
First of all, with the cold weather approaching, please remember to not leave your violins, guitars, etc, out in the cold. The sudden dramatic change in temperature can do great harm to a musical instrument including warping and cracking wood.
This year, we plan to put up a shoe/boot rack at the base of the stairs leading up to the studios. Please remember to take your shoes and boots off if they might be wet at all. For one thing, it will help us keep the school clean, but also, nobody wants to step on a wet spot in sock feet. Please be courteous.
We've had lots of student referrals over the last few months and we'd like to thank everyone who has referred a friend. There's been so many of you that it's hard to acknowledge you all. Remember that every friend you refer earns you a discount on your lessons up to 50% off, permanently. So keep sending us your friends and we'll make sure we continue to earn your trust in us.
"Music develops analytical thinking because it requires students to be creative. They don't just regurgitate memorized facts. They have to apply those facts."

Halloween Costume Contest Results
Thank you to all the students who dressed up in their Halloween costumes at the end of October. We saw some pretty great costumes and it's going to be tough for our teachers to decide. Once the votes are in, the winners will be announced on our Facebook page. If you haven't "liked" us on Facebook yet, go now! We will be using Facebook for other announcements like general cancellation reminders, new teacher additions and more.
