A Message From The Owner
I grew up in a very musical family. Both my parents went to university for music and most of my older siblings also played at least one instrument. I was also very fortunate enough to attend an arts school which devoted much of each day to teaching music in one form or another. As a result, I now enjoy being able to play a variety of instruments. Over the years, playing music has been a favorite hobby and a great stress reliever.
Not everyone gets the opportunity with music that I did as a child. It wasn't until much later in life that I realized how important music was to my childhood and adolescence. During my research as an adult, I discovered how music works the brain and helps you to learn in many other areas, including math and language skills, reduce stress and improve emotional well-being, and increase memory capacity and recall. It is disappointing to see that music consistently takes a back seat to other academics and activities despite the benefits being overwhelmingly in favor of making it a top priority.
This was the reason we started School of Music Arts; to spread the music around in our community and give everyone, young and old, the opportunity to learn and enjoy music to the fullest. Yes, you're never too old to learn. For the vast majority of people, their goal is to play music for enjoyment, and that is our primary focus. For those students who need it, we can also provide serious instruction and help students achieve long-term goals such as RCM certification or University admission.
