We have decided to revert our referral reward back to what we used to do. Effective immediately, any student who refers a new student to us will receive $1.00 off their teacher's per lesson rate up to a maximum of $5.00 off per lesson permanently. Any additional referrals beyond that will result in a free lesson or equivalent credit which can be used to purchase books, or other musical accessories.

We have recently implemented a new student/parent online portal through our website. Most of you are already familiar with it, but we have been gradually shifting our operations over to this new system, and we have been giving out access to the portal one family at a time. Before the end of August, we'd like to have everyone logged on, so if you're not on it yet, talk to Steve to get set up.
This new online portal has many great features that are available to students and parents at no extra cost, including an interactive schedule, family file for invoicing, automatic lesson reminders, a practice log, and more. Many of our teachers are very excited about the portal so far and have already begun to incorporate it's use as part of their regular teaching. We believe this portal will allow for better communication with the teachers, keep better track of student's progress and also avoid things like late payments and forgotten lessons.
If you have trouble accessing certain features, or have any questions at all about the portal's use, please feel free to ask. It's a fairly intuitive program, but we ran into issues while testing it, so we're confident we have already learned all the workarounds and troubleshooting necessary for students and parents to get the most from it. This summer we've had to change how we accept payments, and we know that this has been inconvenient. Many of you have managed to make the adjustment, and we're very grateful for that. However, there are still several who are paying the lesson fees a little late from being accustomed to pre-authorized payments. Over the summer, we are able to be a little flexible, but for September on on, we will have to be strict once again on the due date since fall is usually very busy with new students looking for very limited available times. Please remember that it is our normal policy that lessons are not scheduled unless payments are current to avoid misunderstandings that could result in a teacher being present when the student decides not to attend. Please also note that as we get busier in the fall, there may be students on waiting lists, and it is not fair to keep those students and the teachers waiting if our policies are not strictly observed. We are trying very hard to make pre-authorized payments available again before September, and we appreciate everyone's patience as we sort through this problem.
